ABOUT

India is essentially a farmers world. Connecting the consumers with farmers makes for a convenient relation. To explore this, the clients conducted a detailed research on the market requirements and users.

They partnered with a research company and conducted a through project to understand the market and the feasibility of their undertaking. They conversed with farmers directly, documenting their process.

Dream

We start by conducting research and understanding user behaviour. This is done with the help of tools. Then findings are synthesised to be worked on.

We co-create with the client to understand the problem areas, define the problem statement, build customer profiles, and outline core benefits.

At this stage, we build on all ideas. Rough wireframes and storyboards are created. Quick prototypes are tested internally for validation.

One design that worked best, the team creates a more visually appealing product so it can be validated as well as refined.

RESEARCH

As the clients had detailed research they had documented, it was easy for us to gain an understanding. But, as designers, we need empathy with our users and so on our dime we went ahead and had conversations with farmers, observing how they interact with the middle man.

In comparison, our sights matched theirs, and so very soon we were both on the same page.

WORKSHOP

To better collaborate, we conducted a two day work shop with the clients and their research partners. The session helped us all align on the insights and work together to achieve the right platform.

EASY TO LEARN

The farmers have little to no understanding of computers and interfaces. The design should be such that they learn the process fast.

ONLINE PRESENCE

Farmers are aware they have the producing end customers need but are perplexed as to how to create awareness.

SPECIFICITY

Consumers have specific requirements. These could be quantities, quality, type and so on. Getting this personalised service is essential for their experience.

Dream

We created journey maps for both sets of users. aThis step always helps in guiding us in designing the wireframes. It is truly the blueprint of the project.

EASY TO LEARN

We made a list of the apps farmers use and are most familiar with. These are the contacts app to make calls, WhatsApp to read and send messages and Face- book to keep in touch with friends.

We based our design language around these three apps. Features and fields resemble these apps so the users are familiar with the navigation.

We also called out all the icons and actions and made the search functionality efficient to answer as many queries as possible, with appropriate error messages.

ONLINE PRESENCE

We created an online store for the farmer. His profile page is searchable where he can add his contact de- tails and address, so consumers can contact him directly.

The clients monetised this by making it a paged ser- vice. He can list all the products he has, with images and videos supporting them.

Validate

The clients are looking for funding to start the company. The app is now under development. We hope to see it in the market soon!

CLIENT VALIDATION

Working with Shruthi’s team has been very fruitful. The user testing methods used and tools were informative and educational. Their patient collaboration with our developers will not go unnoticed. I will be recommending them to all my friends. Thank you again.

SPECIFICITY

We created a forum for consumers to post their exact requirements. These are designed to match the farmers and their products. The consumer's post is further sent as a text to the farmer personally so that he can contact him if he has the produce.

The forum acts as a sort of a matchmaking platform to match the consumer's requirements with the farmers.
